Our Story
The love of performing began for Dylan at a very young age. She always wanted to be an actress or a big Broadway star. This provided her with a great hobby all through her school years. She got more serious about the idea when she decided to choose theatre as her major in college.
After school, Dylan gave it her best shot, working in plays, many of them children’s theatre, in New York City and regionally. Between shows, Dylan did what most actors do in the city; she waited tables. The path of Dylan’s life changed with the next audition: a play program for children wanted actors. Dylan got the job.
The idea to form a party company happened a few years later. Dylan was still teaching for the same company, but now she was in New Jersey, instead of NYC. At this point, inspired by how much she loved entertaining and teaching young children, Dylan had enrolled in Montclair to get her teaching certification and Masters in Early Childhood Education.
One day, a parent approached her about the possibility of doing a birthday party for their child. Not knowing what she would do for a party, Dylan at first said no. However, after four similar requests, it dawned on her that this was a great opportunity. She was learning so much at school, giving her tons of ideas about what she could do to create a wonderful musical party. It all seemed so exciting! Fast forward about 17 years…
Parties by Dylan is now Parties by Dylan & Company. The Party Format Dylan invented so many years ago has grown, changed and developed. It is now a proven party brand for entertainers who can sing and play guitar, and really engage very young children through their charm, enthusiasm and respect for how young children learn and grow.
We are more than entertainers. We are teachers, musicians, and parents. We understand how to motivate young children to feel like they can sing, dance, play, and just have fun being who they are. We create a positive atmosphere that enables children to feel safe to play together enjoying games where everyone can be the best they can be. We bring the energy and the inspiration – the children do the rest.
Our company is here because we want to bring joy to the party celebration and facilitate activities which engender success for children ages 1 – 8. We don’t need prizes. Everybody wins because they all get to have FUN!
