The Sandman audiobook is a wasted opportunity to update a classic, the suggestion that “it” is just as appropriate a pronoun, he would change aspects of the comic if it were written today. I’d love to see future installments in the series rely a bit more on Maggs’ and Hannigan’s talents and less on narration from Gaiman, allowing them the opportunity to tell as much of the story as possible through straight dialogue and sound design, but still.
